DISTANT EDUCATION IS A NEW INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY OF THE INTERNET. WHERE DOES IT LEAD TO?
Abstract
The article studies one of the most interesting information technologies used for teaching the young generation – distant education. The historical aspect of this technology is shown, as well as the consistent transition of distance learning to a new information age - the Internet era. Its rapid entry into the educational environment, taking into account the pandemic (COVID-19), is presented, the positive and negative aspects are summarized, and possible development prospects are shown.
